cup butter
4 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg mixed well with a little milk
1 egg yolk mixed well with a little water
pinch of salt
Sift flour & salt into bowl, then rub in margarine. Add sugar, then
milk a bit at a time until the mixture is a soft consistency. Roll
about ¾” thick on to a floured board. Cut in 2 ½” rounds. Place on
greased baking sheet. Brush with egg yolk & water mixture. Place in
preheated 375F. oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove,
cool on wire rack.
